ABOUT ME & MY JOURNEY

MY STORY

Hi lovely, I’m Tasmin — your holistic postnatal doula based in Chelmsford, Essex.
I live here with my boyfriend and our two little boys, who have taught me more about love, patience, and surrender than I ever thought possible.

My work as a doula is rooted in one simple truth: when a mother is nurtured, her whole family thrives.

I’m here to hold and care for you — so you can rest, heal, and settle gently into this new chapter.

My path to this work began through my own experiences of becoming a mother.

I had two lovely pregnancies and births, both empowering and full of joy — but my postpartum, not so much.

With my first, I did have support — people brought food, helped around the house, and my mum even arranged for a lovely lady to give me a full body massage just a few days after I gave birth. Still, I bounced back into life too soon, and it had a lasting effect on me.

My second was an entirely different story. I found myself deeply depleted — running on empty, hanging on by a thread. I cried a lot, felt lonely, and tried to do too much too soon. For some reason, people seem to help less the second time around (even though you need it more than ever). I was completely burnt to a crisp!

That time cracked me open — it showed me how much mothers need to be held, nourished, and cared for after giving birth. We’re so often told to focus on the baby (and of course that’s important), but what about the mother who just gave everything?

That realisation became the heart of my work.

I trained with Nurturing Birth in February 2025 and am constantly learning about the sacred, transformative time that is the postpartum period.

I’m so happy you’re here — so that I can help you feel nurtured and supported during this special time, instead of depleted and overwhelmed.

MY APPROACH

As a holistic postnatal doula, I bring together breathwork, bodywork, emotional support, and nourishing food to help you replenish on every level —  mind, body, and spirit.

Each family I work with is unique, but the intention is always the same: to create a warm, calm space where you feel safe to rest and receive.

That might look like:

  • A quiet afternoon of rest while I cook you grounding, nurturing meals

  • A gentle bodywork session to help your body release tension and reconnect

  • Breathwork and deep listening — so you can share, cry, exhale, or simply be

  • Creating small rituals that honour your journey

  • Holding your baby so that you can have a relaxing bath or just simply rest

  • Light housework so that you don't have to worry about the mess

It’s not about doing everything for you, but about reminding you that you deserve care too.

I work with families in all shapes and sizes — first-time parents finding their feet, second or third-time parents wanting a gentler experience, or anyone who simply wants to feel more held in their postpartum season.

My focus is solely on postnatal care, because I believe this time deserves its own sacred attention. Birth is just the beginning — the weeks and months that follow are where deep healing and transformation happen.

My Philosophy

Motherhood is not meant to be walked alone.
It’s meant to be shared — surrounded by warmth, understanding, and practical support.

In many traditional cultures, the mother is cocooned in care for 40 days or more after giving birth — fed, massaged, and protected. I want to help bring some of that wisdom back. To slow things down. To remind you that you are worthy of the same tenderness you give your baby.
I truly believe that when mothers are cared for, the whole family thrives — emotionally, physically, and energetically.

A Little Note from Me

If you’re here, maybe you’re looking for something gentle.
A softer way to move through those early days and nights — to feel seen, nourished, and supported as you find your rhythm.
You don’t have to do it all on your own.
Let me hold space for you.

Lots of love,
Tasmin
